Cedar Lodge Riding Weekends

Due to scheduling conflicts and varying interests we have changed the format of our Riding Weekends. We are not formally scheduling any ridng weekends. Instead, please contact us with weekends that you may be interested in coming to visit us as an individual or group. On occasion, those weekends will then be offered open to others. Riding weekends can follow the typical schedule listed below, or may be bit more relaxed schedule to give the riders a chance to enjoy other things that Cedar Lodge and the surrounding area might have to offer. Fee schedule will depend on format.

Full Schedule (listed below) will cost 200.00/person/weekend

Scheduled weekend for Fall 2011:TBA

OR design your own using the following format

Call or e-mail for availability and pricing or if you are interested in a different weekend than listed. Chris Cochrane: (269)674-8072  cedarlodgestables@gmail.com

Our Riding Weekends have become increasingly more popular over time. They have proved a hit with the "beginner, I have never ridden," and the "Advanced, but I need to improve" alike. There really is not a particular age, or ability. Some riders are returnee campers, some ride with us year around, and some are new to Cedar Lodge and may be checking us out for a possible summer stay. Some have no ties with our programs  at all, and are just looking for an intense riding experience for a weekend, and some are here to "hang out" while someone else they are with are busy working hard in the ring. Though many riders come alone, an increasingly popular new group is the sons and daughters with mom or dad in tow. Some parents choose to participate in the riding classes, some choose to let their children ride while they enjoy a relaxing weekend in the country. Riders and parents should keep in mind that we are primarily a Hunter/Jumper stable, and therefore, our lessons are English based.

Costs for full Riding weekend format: 200.00 includes: Room, Board, 4 instructional rides, Evening Programs, Lectures.

Housing: Bunk Housing in our refurbished farm house. Bunk beds, electricity, heat, 2 private baths. For those that might think this would be too rustic, housing also available in our guest rooms for an additional fee.

Interested? Fill out our Riding Weekend Application and send it back to us today! Space is limited!

Want to try Showing? Why not join us for our schooling shows! Every year Cedar Lodge participates in several schooling shows in both the fall and the spring to bring out their young horses and riders and shake out all the kinks in their "seasoned" competitors and mounts. These weekends start on either Friday night or very early Saturday morning with lessons and show preparation, and are followed by an all day Sunday horse show, either on Cedar Lodge grounds (with participation of other stables as well) or hauling to one of the local stables. They serve as a good way to try out showing in a less competitive, less stressful and less expensive environment. Qualification criteria is the same as Cedar Lodge Summer Show team. If you have questions, contact Chris Cochrane at (269)674-8072 for more information.
