2012
Summer Staff Bios.It's
early, but we're hot in negotiations for summer 2012! Working on
bringing back some familiar faces (so please keep in mind that some of
the below are tentative), and searching for those great new staff that
are worthy of our great campers! Stay tuned!
Emma
Waterfront/Sports/Fishing/Boating
G’day! My name is Emma, and I’m from Esperance, a seaside town in
Australia. I’ll be escaping the Aussie winter and heading north
to spend a summer in the sun in the U.S. This will be my first
time visiting the states, and I just can’t wait!
I’m a qualified Primary School Teacher, Lifeguard and Swim Teacher, so
I’ll be spending plenty of time on and around the waterfront this
summer.
My other interests include; reading, listening to music, playing
tennis, keeping active at the gym, checking out the latest movies,
cooking for friends and family, jet skiing, photography and
sailing.
I love learning and am always keen to acquire to new skills and
knowledge, and meet new and interesting people. With water
skiing, quad biking, skydiving and snow skiing already ticked off my
“to-do” list, who knows what’s next? I’m sure I’ll learn plenty
this summer, and it will be one I’ll never forget!

Kendra Full time Riding and Vaulting Instructor
HEY!!
My name is Kendra, and I’m baaaaaack! And I couldn’t be happier about
that! By the time summer comes around, I will have just graduated from
The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with my MA in clinical
counseling, and hoping to find a “real” job starting in the fall. I
was born and bred a Cedar Lodger, spending all but one of my summers
there. (And last year I was still around a lot!). You can expect to
find me in the barn, the barn, and probably the barn. (And I suppose if
they need me somewhere else, that’s fine, too). I’ll be teaching riding
lessons, ground lessons, and vaulting. I’ll be soaking at much horse
and camp time I can. I’ve spent most of my horse career at Cedar Lodge,
and you couldn’t pay me to stop. I’m already looking forward to the
time I’ll be able to spend at camp this summer; I know I’ll need it!
But I also know that Amy is working on an amazing staff (just look at
who’s on this page!) and there is no way for the summer to not be one
for the books! I absolutely cannot wait to see your bright and shining
faces, so come on and join us!
Amanda Riding, Sports
Hi
my name is Amanda and I will be on staff again this year. This
will be my 10th summer at Cedar Lodge and I can’t wait. I am from
Bloomfield Hills, MI but I am currently living in Ann Arbor and
attending the University of Michigan. I love to horseback
ride as well as play a variety of sports including basketball,
softball, golf, archery and many more. At school I play on the
club ultimate Frisbee team as well as the club polo team. This
summer you can find me mostly in the barn but also helping around the
rest of camp as well. I hope everyone is as excited for camp as I
am and hopefully this will be the best summer yet.
BeccaShe's baccccckkkkkkkkk!!!!!!
Riding/Kitchen/Sports
Hey! My name is Becca and I will be on staff again this summer. I never
really know how it happens, but I just can’t seem to stay away :-D This
summer will mark a decade for me at Cedar Lodge, and I am super excited
to be around again. I am from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I will just be
finishing my first year of college at Miami University in Ohio.
In my free time I enjoy a lot of activities. I have been playing
women’s rugby for four years now and I love it! I also ride horses and
in fact I own three of them! My show pony, Dominic, you will meet this
summer! I hope you guys are all super excited to be coming to
camp, I know I am happy to be able to come back again. You could call
camp my other family. I hope everyone is as excited for
summertime as I am! See you soon!!!
Kali Full time Riding and Vaulting instructor
There isn't a day in my life that Cedar Lodge isn't a part of. While I
live away now, I run home every chance I get. During the summer I am
found primarily in the barn teaching riding, coaching vaulting,
attending horse shows or taking the horseback overnights up to Star
Hill. There is not a happier Kali than the one found within the
confines of the barn complex. However, when duty calls you may also be
able to find me at the waterfront, arts & crafts, land sports,
singing or leading a group game.
In addition to what I do at Cedar Lodge, I am a Chiropractic student at
Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. I spend oodles of time
reading and studying, but every so often I get the chance to indulge in
my hobbies which, of course, include riding, but also include rock
climbing, rugby, and construction.
Out of all the places I have been and seen, I always come home to camp.
Its a remarkable “home” that allows you to try new experiences, unlock
your creative imagination, and meet people who will truly become your
life-long friends and family. I hope to see you soon!
I know she'll be around some.............
Allison
Riding Instructor, Camping, Folk Dance and Lore, Land Sports, Singing,
Hiking, Nature, Bugs, Camp Band, Canoing, Waterfront, Funny Stuff
With some many great old faces to see and so
many wonderful new faces to meet, how could I possibly resist coming
back to
camp for yet another summer. I would just miss the fun way
too much.
Those who know me know I love camp. I love the culture of camp, the
philosophy
of camp and all the great things camp gives to campers like you. In my
25
years, I have only ever missed two summers. For me, camp is a way of
life. I am
eager to see you all this summer and to do what I love. Which is share
with you
this wonderful place called Cedar Lodge, and to help you learn, grow,
and have
fun.
If you want
to know where you can find me this summer, you will have to do some
searching around. I will spend a lot of my time at the waterfront
lifeguarding
for free swim, boating, and other activities at the lake. You will also
find my
hiking in the woods, keeping Sr. unit in line, making friendship
bracelets in
the A&C, playing SPUD on the lawn, and maybe even in the barn
on occasion.
And If you ask nicely, I will even teach you to hang a spoon off of
your nose
(and other important life skills that you only learn at camp)
What about my none-camp life you may wonder. Well, I
graduated from
Kalamazoo College in 04' with a BA in psychology. I spent 8
months living, working, and traveling in Africa.
Now I am working and hopefully starting graduate school in the fall to
get my
Master's. In my free time, I read, do yoga and swim laps to
keep
my
lifeguarding muscles in tip top shape for camp.
Don't forget the Senior Junior Staff : Kim!

Hey everyone! It's Kim! You didn't think I'd pass up another
opportunity to come to camp, did you? After a long and hard year of
school at the University of Michigan (yes, that means I live by
Amanda!) I'm ready to make this summer relaxing not only for me, but
for you little chillun' as well! I'm always up for a bit of adventure
and exercise, and I'm certainly not afraid to break a sweat! I'll still
help out wherever needed at camp, so get geared up because it's summer
2011 and I'm coming!
Cassie
Hey Campers! Hey what you might ask? For those of you who don’t
know me from previous years, my name is Cassie, and this will be my 7th
year coming to Cedar Lodge. Apparently I’m too old now to be a camper
(or so they tell me), so I will be on Junior Staff this year! I hope
that I can help make camp as amazing of an experience for all of you as
it has always been for me. I am currently a junior in high school, in
Park Ridge, IL, where I play on the badminton team. Along with
badminton, I enjoy rock climbing, soccer, and biking when I have time.
At camp I have always enjoyed a variety of things from riding,
vaulting, lawn games, sports, and even some arts & crafts. No doubt
I will be a little bit of everywhere and anywhere I am needed this
summer. I hope you are all as pumped about this summer as I am, because
I’m already be counting down the days until the first week of camp! See
you all soon!
and the Junior Staff...........
