December Updates 2006
Aquilla has a
boyfriend!!!!!???????!!!!!
Why? Well, the price was right and I suppose an argument could be
made that we didn't have a mini his color, but the winning speech
included the fact that the Willow goat is constantly getting out
on the lawn, and Lu Lu the sheep must be let lose on the lawn to
graze on the better grass. That leaves poor Aquilla all by
herself. Aquilla, it was decided needed a friend. When the
opportunity for another mini, we decided it was time to expand
our brood. Kali and Kendra requested that his name be "Banana
Pancake" off a popular song that the like and so, "Pancake" has
been added to the Cedar Lodge Family. Though Aquilla is happy to
have the company, I think she is adjusting to having someone her
size that she can't boss around. Life is full of compromises and
adjustments and we are confident Aquilla will adjust and learn to
love Pancake as much as she loves her breakfast:)
I couldn't let you think we have
been sitting around this December! Ashley asked for a set of
jumps to train her dogs over and play "Horse Show". A quick look
at prices for a mini sized set of jumps informed us that there
was little difference between buying mini jumps and full scale
horse jumps. So it was Chris and Amy to the rescue for Christmas.
After all, if we can build and paint 3 full sets of Horse show
jumps for our rings, we can certainly tackle a set of mini jumps
for Ashley. How much work can it be? The answer is, exactly as
much work as if you were building a set of full size jumps! All
and all, we had a bunch of fun and were tramping around on
Ashley's lawn at 10:30 Christmas eve night setting up Ashley's
jumps with head lamps and flash lights. Thank Heaven we're camp
people! Ashley has already been out practicing her moves and
winning her classes. Be careful dogs, I think you're next!
